[...] Actiontastic is going to continue on its announced open source path. If you’ve been wondering about the source code release, it is still on the way but involves more than the simple mechanics of publishing some code.
Is this dead? What's the hold up on vaporware opensource project? It's been 2.5 months since the announcement. It would take less than an hour to commit the source to an OS hosting site.

Hi! Just started playing with Actiontastic and it seems great...but for one thing....

Is there a reason you chose to close Actiontastic when the red X is pressed? A more consistent OS X behavior would be hiding the application. I'd like to keep it running, but in playing with it for a few hours, I've accidentally closed it about five times.

Hi there!

This is a neat little application that is really helping me get rid of that pounding vein in my forehead.

Something just popped into my mind. Wouldn't it be great if the app could create folders in a designated projects folder if you add references to items and move the item into that folder? I do a lot of research and sometimes I lose track of all the material I collect, this way I could gather all the material I need and have the app organize it for me. Of course, it should only create this folder if I add stuff to my projects or if I create a folder myself.

This way I could setup an action that synchronizes my projects folder to my iPod/USB device and always have a copy of the files I am currently working on.

Just started using Actiontastic this morning. It's exactly what I've been looking for. One thing I would recommend is simplifying the Actiontastic icon. It just doesn't fit with the other shapes in my dock. I think that the icon would be much stronger if it were just the blue-print and hammer, or just the anvil and check mark. Perhaps the blue print and hammer could be shaped like the Mail icon, Vienna icon, TextMate icon, etc.? That seems to be a common shape for productivity/utility apps.

Anyhoo, great work!

Actiontastic being offered for free is great news!

On your way to 1.0, could you possibly add European (day/month/year, i.e. "31.3.2007" instead of "03/31/2007") date format as an option?

And maybe you could think about an option to sync only "Next Actions" to iCal, not everything. It would probably be more GTDesque (and much more usable) that way.

And while it's not exactly GTD, but since iCal has priorities and Actiontastic syncs with iCal, could priorities also be included?

Oh, and you should never offer me free beer, I might become impertinent :-)

(I already posted this several weeks ago, but your system obviously didn't like my bogus email address. Why does everyone have to insist on collecting email addresses even when they're not necessary?)

When a project or task is paused, it should go light-grey, or be moved into an @waiting category (per GTD) automatically.
